“Trigger laws” are laws that are put in place after a certain event happens. For those who are dedicated to protecting life, these trigger laws are the hopeful next step after Roe vs. Wade. TN and many other states have trigger laws that will start after Roe vs. Wade is no longer law of the land.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the hope we have to know the reality of what we cannot currently see or touch.
In 1973 the United States Supreme Court made legalized abortion the law of the land in a case we know as Roe vs, Wade. Sheila and I, and countless other men and women have worked tirelessly believing the reality of seeing Roe vs. Wade overturned, can and will happen.
Most of us remember the horror of the New York laws signed in January ensuring abortions through all nine months of pregnancy. Alaska, Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, Washington D.C. also have the same abortion laws with no gestational limits. Then, there was the VA Governor posturing for infanticide. When Roe vs. Wade is overturned, abortion law will then be governed by each state. There are many other states positioning themselves with laws protecting the life of the unborn. Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, and South Dakota are just a few who have trigger laws in place to protect the lives of the unborn.
I am so thankful for those who fight for Life. I am thankful for those who have not let their hope fail. For they are the ones who continue to have hope to know the reality of what cannot be seen at this moment. Their actions and attitude model Hebrews 11:1.
Yesterday TN acted in faith, believing Roe vs. Wade will eventually be overturned. The trigger law put in place is the highest measure of protection for the life of the unborn. TN’s trigger law will ban abortions once Roe vs. Wade is overturned. Thank you Governor Bill Lee for signing the Human Life Protection Act! This law will not only save many unborn children’s lives, but will keep mothers and fathers from making a decision that could destroy their lives.
My encouragement is for us to trust to hope, to know in our knowing what we cannot currently see or touch will soon be made a reality.
